#MOVETOENDDV DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION NONPROFIT LAUNCHES VOLUNTEER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM WITH CELEBRITY AMBASSADOR AKBAR GBAJABIAMILA
#MoveToEndDV is proud to launch its volunteer Ambassador program to provide community liaisons that empower businesses to donate products and services to local shelters. The program aims to send #MoveToEndDV-vetted Ambassadors into their communities to connect shelters with pledging businesses that are stepping up to donate their products and services to help victims and survivors of domestic violence.
“Since word spread about Meathead Movers’ free moving services for victims of domestic violence and the launch of #MoveToEndDV, we have received an outpouring of support and requests for ways to get involved,” said Aaron Steed, CEO of Meathead Movers and co-founder of #MoveToEndDV. “Not only have we given businesses a channel to give back through our pledge program, but now, through the Ambassador Program, we have established a way for individuals to volunteer their time to make a significant impact in the worldwide movement to end domestic violence.”
As part of the Ambassador Program launch, #MoveToEndDV is proud to announce Akbar Gbajabiamila as a Celebrity Ambassador of the nonprofit. Gbajabiamila is a five-year NFL veteran who is now a sports analyst for the NFL Network and co-host of the Emmy-nominated NBC competition series American Ninja Warrior. With a shared passion for the #MoveToEndDV mission, Gbajabiamila joined the campaign to serve as an advocate and spokesperson to inspire ambassadors and businesses throughout the world to unite and put an end to domestic violence once and for all.
#MoveToEndDV is now accepting applications from volunteers who want to be involved as a community ambassador. Once vetted and accepted, #MoveToEndDV equips Ambassadors with a complete Tool Kit for them to effectively build and maintain relationships with their local shelters and business community. In partnership with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), #MoveToEndDV Ambassadors also receive expert training and resources to ensure the safety of themselves, the shelters and the businesses that are giving back.
Steed continued, “As a business owner, I know all too well the time commitment required to connect with domestic violence shelters to donate our services. With the Ambassador program, #MoveToEndDV is now able to establish professionally trained advocates as the liaison for businesses all over the world so that it’s more effective and safe for shelters to get the resources they need and for businesses to give back.”
